Team Banquet

Our team banquet was held on Wednesday 5/31/2023 at St. George Romanian Orthodox Church. We reminisced and celebrated this past year's triumphs and successes, presented awards and six year jackets, announced scholarship winners, highlighted our amazing graduating seniors, and gave our athletes yearbooks and athletic trading cards.

The Most Improved Awards were given by level and voted on by the coaching staff. These athletes showed the biggest improvement from the start of the year to the end of the year. Congratulations to our Most Improved Awards Recipients!

The Spirit Awards were awarded by level and voted on by the coaching staff. These athletes most exemplify the  the six YMCA Character Values of respect, responsibility, trustworthiness, citizenship, caring, and fairness. Congratulations to our Spirit Awards Recipients!

The Teammate Choice Award was voted on by all of the athletes. Each athlete voted for the gymnast they thought best represented the North Canton YMCA. We had 30 different nominations and this athlete received votes from every single level. This huge honor was given to Kiara Hockman.

We also presented two of our graduating seniors with our Paul Steiner Memorial Scholarship award. This scholarship is in memory of our former office manager, Terri Steiner's, very much loved and devoted husband, Paul. He passed away 5 years ago from Cancer. He was always smiling and willing to do anything to help out at the gym. He will never be forgotten, and his name and legacy will remain alive through this scholarship. We are very proud to present this scholarship to both Molly Simpson and Josie Palek

We also spent part of the evening celebrating our graduating seniors. Our seniors are an amazing group of athletes and we couldn't be more proud of them. Each senior was presented with a scrapbook that was created by their friends. Congrats again to:

We also had a chance to hear from Booster Club President, Jennifer Moore. Thank you, Jennifer, for helping create this memorable year for our team. The last thing we did was to distribute this year's yearbook and athletic trading cards to all of the teammates.
